Harvesting Tulips cont.

This is an example of when you should harvest double layered blooms for optimal vase life. I look for some color, and a little bit of cracking on the edges before I pull these. As soon as you can tell what color the tulip will be, it's time to get it out of the ground. Harvesting at these stages will ensure that you can hold blooms over, especially if you plan to dry store of any length of time.
